Qualifications and Vocational Education and Training Development Centre (KPMPC) is responsible for the implementation of vocational education and training (VET) and adult education initiatives and policies in Lithuania. It functions under the Ministry of Education and Science. The main activities of KPMPC are the development of VET qualifications, standards and curricula; development and assessment of quality of VET providers; development and promotion of lifelong learning and continuing adult education; analysis and dissemination of information on VET and lifelong learning; development of VET teachers and adult educators qualification; methodical support for VET and adult education providers.
KPMPC is the coordinator of the national VET reform projects and acts as a national coordination point for implementing EQF (European Qualifications Framework) and EQAVET (European Quality Assurance Reference Framework for VET).

The Department of Secondary Technical and Vocational Education of the Ministry of Education and Culture is responsible for the design, supervision and coordination of all the educational and administrative issues related to initial and continuing VET in Cyprus and more specifically for:
The organization, administration and supervision of the operation of Technical Schools, which offer initial and continuing technical and vocational education and training programmes
The planning, coordination and supervision of the work of Secondary Technical and Vocational Education Inspectors
The supervision, guidance and evaluation of Secondary Technical and Vocational Education teachers
The organization of educational conferences and training courses for Secondary Technical and Vocational Education teachers
Curricula development
Preparation of exam papers
Counseling and career guidance
Offering advice on issues related to Technical and Vocational Education and Training.
The Department offers the following programmes to eligible gymnasium leavers and adults, as described below:
Upper Secondary Technical and Vocational Education (morning classes),
the Afternoon and Evening Classes of Technical Schools, and
the Post Secondary Institutes of VET.
In addition to the above, the Department of Secondary Technical and Vocational Education is the National Coordination Point for the development of the Cyprus NQF. It is also involved in the implementation of the EU directives regarding EQAVET (European Network for Quality Assurance for VET) and ECVET (European Credit Transfer System for VET).

The kick-off meeting of the Re-CVET project took place in Nicosia on the 25th January 2016 in the premised of the Ministry of Education and Culture of Cyprus. During this meeting the project coordinator presented the partners, proceeded with the finalisation of contractual arrangements, the clarification of administrative and operative issues, the validation of the work programme and requirements for resources, as well as the planning of the activities due to be undertaken in the upcoming period.

Comprehensive policy frameworks for continuing VET: Reform of Continuing Vocational Education and Training Systems (Re-CVET) - Enoros Consulting
On the 14th June 2016, the 2nd partnership meeting of the Re_CVET project was successfully held in Vilnius, Lithuania! Representatives from the Ministry of Εducation and Culture of Cyprus (MOEC), Enoros Consulting Ltd and the Ministry of Education and Science of Lithuania (Qualifications and Vocational Education and Training Development Center - KPMPC), who was the host for this meeting, discussed the progress of the implementation activities of the project and had fruitful dialogue as regards to next steps. The team was also invited to have a tour in the nearby vocational School premises for auto-mechanics, the only one that exists in the country (Vilniaus automechanikos ir verslo mokykla), and had the chance to be briefed by the Director of the School on its activities and future plans. It was all-in-all a very productive meeting!
